Event Designer + Photographer
On Sunday, August 13, 2022, as part of a monthly Sunday Afternoons series for Presidio of San Francisco, Favianna Rodriguez, and Felicia Gabaldon unveil a new public art installation at Presidio Tunnel Tops: Iconic Visions, a project of Ancestral Futurism. As their sole designer, I was responsible for creating the event’s poster that would be used, and I was the assisting designer for Felicia.

Digitalize all of the artist’s paintings that will be printed and used at large scale for the park instillation, installation mock-up design, event poster design research, event collateral designs, print-ready designs (windmaster, pins for store, and table placements), documenting the process before the event for digital posts for social media or press release

Defining the Request:
Digital Design: I have been tasked with supporting the talented artist Felicia Gabaldon, a member of the Choctaw Tribe from the United States. As a painter, Felicia needed her artwork to be converted to vector format so that it could be replicated for the installation as well as any promotional items for the event. I helped Felicia by converting her artwork to vector format and making necessary edits to ensure that the final product could be installed as a ground mural and printed on a large scale.
Document Process: From the beginning of this opportunity, I was responsible for capturing images to document and record the process before the event: Harmony Unleashed. It was useful for various purposes, such as creating a visual record for the artists, and for promoting the event. I photographed meetings, recorded the designs, and documented the mural print setups.
Event Poster: When creating the event poster, I started by researching my target audience and identifying the type of events that suit the location and audience. I made sure to clearly understand the purpose of my event and the message I wanted to convey. Creating the event poster involved collaboration, iterations, and understanding all the locations where it will be promoted. It was important that I created a poster that would effectively communicate the key details of the event and attract the attention of potential attendees.
